HOPE OF A LITTLE BOY

  "കോളേജ് ജംഗ്ഷൻ, കോളേജ് ജംഗ്ഷൻ, കോളേജ് ജംഗ്ഷൻ ഇറങ്ങാൻ ഉള്ളവർ പോര് പോര് പോരെ...." പ്രൈവറ്റ് ബസ്സിലെ കിളിയുടെ ശബ്ദം ആ സൈഡ് സീറ്റിൽ ഉറങ്ങി കിടന്നിരുന്ന ഫിലിപ്പിന്റെ കാതുകളിലേക്ക് എത്തി. കൂടെ ആരോ പുറത്തു തട്ടി വിളിക്കുന്ന പോലെയും തോന്നി. "ഡാ.. മതി ഉറങ്ങിയത്. എന്നീറ്റ് വന്നേ.. സ്റ്റോപ്പ് ആയി." കണ്ണു തുറന്നു നോക്കിയ ഫിലിപ്പ് കണ്ടത് ഒന്നാം ക്‌ളാസ് മുതൽ തൻ്റെ കൂടെ ഉള്ള രാജനെ ആയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോഴാണ് ഫിലിപ്പിന് സ്ഥലകാലബോധം ഉണ്ടായത്. താൻ സ്കൂൾ ജീവിതം പിന്നിട്ട് കലാലയ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് കാൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കോളജിലെ തൻ്റെ ആദ്യ ദിനം. ബോധം തിരികെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഫിലിപ്പ് പെട്ടന്ന് സീറ്റിൽ നിന്നും ചാടി എഴുന്നേറ്റു രാജൻ്റെ ഒപ്പം പുറത്തേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങി. "എന്തൊരു ഉറക്കമാണപ്പാ ഇത്? പോത്ത് പോലും ഇങ്ങനെ ബോധം കെട്ടുറങ്ങില്ല." കിട്ടിയ തക്കത്തിന് രാജൻ ഫിലിപ്പിന് ഇട്ടൊന്ന് കൊട്ടി. ഭാഗം ഒന്ന്  "പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട അന്നമ്മയ്ക്ക്,         നിനക്ക് സുഖമെന്നു കരുതുന്നു. നീയും കുടുംബവും ഇപ്പോൾ ബനാറസിൽ ആണെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞു. ഏറെ നാൾ മുൻപ് പറയണം എന്ന് വെച്ച ചില കാര്യങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിൽ ഇപ്പോഴും കിടന്നു പിടക്കുകയാണ്. കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി എന്നറിയാം. എങ്കിലും ഉള്ളിലുള്ള കാര്യം മരിക്കുന്നതിനു മുൻപ് ഒരുവട്ടം എങ്കിലും നീ അറിയണം എന്നുണ്ട്. അതിനാൽ ആണ് ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു കത്ത് എഴുതുന്നത്.        നിനക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ നമ്മൾ ഒരേ കോളേജിൽ ആയിരുന്നു പഠിച്ചത് എന്ന്. അന്ന് എന്‍റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്‍റെ ക്ലാസ്സ്മേറ്റ് എന്ന നിലയിൽ നിന്നെ പരിചയപ്പെട്ട നിമിഷം മുതൽ നീ എന്‍റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഇടം നേടിയതാണ്. എങ്കിലും എനിക്കു നിന്നോട് അത് തുറന്നു പറയുവാൻ ഭയമായിരുന്നു. ആ ഭയം എന്നെ നിന്നിൽ നിന്നും അകറ്റി. കാലം ഇത്ര കഴിഞ്ഞു. ഞാനും നീയും രണ്ടു തട്ടിലായി. എങ്കിലും നിന്നോടുള്ള എന്‍റെ ഇഷ്ടം ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നും മായുന്നില്ല. അന്ന് പറയാതെ പോയതിന്‍റെ കുറ്റബോധം ഇപ്പോഴും എന്‍റെ ഉള്ളിൽ അലയടിക്കുകയാണ്. ഇനി നാം ഒരുമിക്കുക എന്നത് സാധ്യമല്ല. എനിക് ഒരു കുടുംബം ഉണ്ട്. വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞ അന്ന് തന്നെ എന്‍റെ ഭാര്യയോട് എല്ലാം തുറന...
